On Monday July 21st through to Thursday July 24th Atlantic58 hosted a training session that was delivered by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) on an Introduction to Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) modules.
The training was delivered by Mike Oxford who is a Professional Practice Manager with CIEEM in our own office location.
We were also delighted to offer spaces to the team at Aquatera and Redwing Ecology.
The course covered ecological risk, construction practices and site communication. It was a perfect blend between interactive sessions and practical knowledge and balanced expert guidance with real-world examples to help everyone to gain a clear understanding and build confidence in tackling the challenges of ecological monitoring and management on site.
Beth Hunt, our Graduate Environmental Clerk of Works (EnvCoW) said: “Our ECoW training, hosted by Mike Oxford, was both informative and engaging, featuring plenty of sector-relevant case studies that helped clear up many uncertainties. Mike was great at adapting the course to meet our specific needs. Meeting others in the industry was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas, and the discussions throughout the week were really valuable. By the end, we all had a clear understanding of what it takes to be an effective Ecological Clerk of Works.”
Our thanks go to CIEEM, and especially Mike Oxford, for his willingness to travel to us and provide the training and also to the teams at Aquatera and Redwing Ecology for joining us on the course.
