On August 15th 2025, First Minister John Swinney met with members of the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub at An Lanntair to highlight the island’s collective efforts in tackling climate change.
His appearance emphasised the island’s pivotal role in driving local climate action and building a more sustainable future.
During the visit, First Minister John Swinney re-iterated his support for island communities, which featured meetings with regional leaders. He also announced new funding for the Gaelic media hub located in Stornoway, reinforcing the Government’s commitment to cultural preservation and local development.
David Macdonald, our Business Manager, attended the event on behalf of the company.
Angus Maclean, our Ecological Consultant, and director of Climate Hebrides said: “We were absolutely delighted to host the First Minister and have our Hub Members meet with him. There were lots of insightful takeaways from the day and it was great to hear the First Minister’s perspective on the climate issues we’re facing here in the Outer Hebrides.”
As an organisation, we will continue to engage and attend local events which contribute to the climate effort.
