Ecological services
Research & Specialist Support
Some of our work extends beyond standard project delivery and reflects a wider interest in applied ecological research and specialist technical support. The Western Isles provide a distinctive and valuable context for this, with complex habitats, sensitive species and working landscapes that raise important ecological questions.
Research-led and exploratory work can be supported alongside other project work, drawing on staff experience that includes PhD- and Masters-level training. This allows for the design and delivery of applied research, bespoke monitoring and technical studies where additional evidence or investigation is required, including GIS mapping and spatial data analysis to support ecological assessment, land management and research projects.
We have a number of active research projects and interests, and collaborative work is welcomed where it aligns with our areas of practice. This can include academic research, project-based industry research, pilot studies or specialist technical input linked to development, restoration or land management projects.
