The inaugural Islands Economy Showcase, took place on Wednesday April 2nd and Atlantic58 were delighted to be invited to attend.

The event provided a platform for 24 enterprises from Scotland's island communities to engage with policymakers, explore opportunities, share challenges and celebrate achievements.

It was led by the Cross Party Group on Islands, in partnership with Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), the three island councils, and the three councils with inhabited islands.

It was an opportunity for us to spotlight the diversity of island economies and their contribution to Scotland’s growth whilst also highlighting the challenges facing island enterprises.

Laura Carse, our Director, attended the event and said “This event provided the chance to share expertise and engage in discussions that can shape the future of sustainable island economies. We had a unique opportunity to collaborate with key decision-makers and industry partners.”

We were also thrilled to meet with other organisations and to strengthen inter-island bonds.
