Job Opportunity at Atlantic58

EIA Consultant (Middle - Senior Level)

Atlantic58 is a small but rapidly growing consultancy based in the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. We provide a range of professional environmental consultancy services, focusing on projects within the unique social, cultural, and ecological environment of the Western Isles. Clients range from local community development trusts to global multinationals and cover a wide variety of sectors across renewables, aquaculture and fisheries. One of our largest and rapidly growing markets is the currently emerging space sector, and the successful candidate - depending on experience - may also have the opportunity to support licensing requirements for a range of launch activities and launch venues.

A position is now available for an EIA Consultant to support our diverse range of locally based projects across the onshore and offshore environment. The role is ideal for an experienced EIA Consultant with a background in a specialist EIA technical discipline. It is essential that the applicant has proven experience and understanding of the EIA process over a minimum of 4 years.

Living in the Hebrides
Whilst working at home is a possibility for the right candidate, much of the business’ success is linked to our local knowledge and understanding of the unique nature of the Western Isles, and we do ask that candidates consider a permanent move to the Western Isles in the medium to long term. Living within the Western Isles provides a unique lifestyle experience suitable for both families and single people. The Hebridean lifestyle also offers affordable housing, quiet commuting routes and the opportunity to build a rural lifestyle in a unique crofting community where Gaelic is still widely taught and spoken. In addition to the rich cultural heritage, the area offers a unique opportunity to experience numerous outdoor activities including surfing, paddleboarding, wild swimming, diving, fishing, wildlife watching opportunities and Gaelic heritage tradition along with the rare opportunity to live in an area with rich crofting history and natural beauty.
